Resting in the sun
Class 90 Electric locomotive 90029 stands at ease in Waverly Station awaiting its next duty, wearing DB Schenker livery. Introduced by British Rail between 1987-1990, the first fifteen Class 90 AC Electric locos were put to work in Intercity services whilst others went to Royal Mail trains and other freight work. Displaced from passenger work on the West Coast mainline by Pendolino Class 390 EMUs by 2006, various TOCs took them on for shorter distance work and freight haulage. Perhaps youngie66 can help here, but I think that 90029 could be on standby for 'Thunderbird' duty - or waiting to work the sleeper services tonight. Other photos from today's trainspotting can be seen in my Blipfolio.
