The foul, the vile and the disgusting.
No, not the latest Clint Eastwood film, but a reaction to a litter-picking afternoon - more in a mo.
A good day today, weatherwise at least. We popped down to the Walled Garden before lunch to pick another 6lbs of runner beans - more to come too! Most of the peas are finished, but we picked another dinner's worth!
After lunch I joined a dozen or so folk to do a litter pick up at the Hydro - the ruins of the Hydropathic Hotel for non-local Blippers. It's a favourite boozing haunt of the mindless youth of the town and today it was especially disgusting - we filled 24 large sacks. Plastic and glass bottles, cans, paper and plastic cups and general rubbish. Broken glass everywhere as the drinkers smash their bottles against the walls and disgustingly smelly; one lady found a bag of human excrement! People!
In a few weeks it will all be back again, no doubt.
Limerick of the Day: (I should have written a special one!)
A young lady from Chorlton-on-Medlock
Had three kids and a dog out of wedlock.
Her partner thought she was
But realised that he was
Unequal to breaking the deadlock.
