Whatever the #PRweather
We’ve experienced it with both excitement and dismay; observed its beauty and its destruction; and found it a source of joy and misery.
It, is of course, the weather! And we’d like to ask for your help.
Across the world on Blipfoto, we have an incredible and diverse archive of dramatic weather event images which include the impact on humans, the environment and wildlife that we believe is of historical significance. It is, of course, your daily outings to save images and document events that have made this happen.
Putting together a collection of these photographs would make a thought-provoking article. We’re therefore keen to find out whether some of you would be happy for us to use any of your images in a press release or photo essay for use in the media.
We are looking for images taken in the last two years to cover all four seasons if we can.
If you have a relevant image or images you would share for media purposes either:
1. Tag them #PRweather (for Press Release Weather).
2. Send us an email with links to your journal entries to: marketing@blipfoto.com.
3. Add a comment here with links to your journal entries.
Please add a snippet of any extra information you think we would find useful, for example location including country, season, type of weather, explanation of impact.
The questions we think you might have are here but please ask us in the comments or by email if you have another query.
Q. Do the images need to be of the actual extreme weather event?
No, the impact or aftermath of the extreme weather is equally important.
Q. Do we credit you?
Yes - we will add your journal name like this: ‘Photo by blipper WharfedaleBex’ but by all means, we can use your image anonymously if you prefer.
Q. Will you share a URL weblink to my actual journal?
No. We are only looking to use images from your journals with information about the event.
Q. Must the image have been taken on the day?
A. Yes.
We hope this focus on the weather would make a captivating article for the media and hope you can help us pull it off.
Many thanks
Richard and Bex
