The Old Lido...
...in Grange-over Sands.
As we stood looking through the wire fence I imagined times gone by when families would spend the day having fun in the outdoor pool with a picnic of banana or jam butties - kids in those bubble fabric swimsuits.
We were pleased to read that this Art Deco Lido is to be refurbished and they are raising money to carry out the work, though I suppose it will be slowed down due to Corona Virus - not many people will have money to spare for donations.

It's been cold and wet today. We were meant to be going to the boat after the Covid nurse came to do the weekly swabs but nobody came. We decided to stay here till Wednesday when it is to be dry weather. Just as well because a Covid nurse phoned to say he was coming tomorrow!
As we had time to spare, Frank said we could repaint the wall in the attic, which had been damaged by damp before the roof and chimney had been repaired. It's all done now with stain guard under the emulsion. I just need to stick a strip of the wallpaper back on in the alcove.
The rest of my day was spent sourcing fabrics for the other quilts. I was in my element finding designs that match the kids interests.
I also did my #inktober drawing. I did it quite quickly today as I was so busy looking at fabrics! The prompt was slippery.
My stepdaughter video-called us today to say she'd got a new job in social work - she will train and study while she is working in children and families. She is very excited!
The news is on just now with the new Covid rules.
Heaven only knows when we'll be able to see our families - especially the grandchildren. They are growing up so fast and we're missing so much of their young lives :-(
That's all for today.
Stay safe everybody :-)X
