Noisy Grackles

These noisy birds migrate through the area in spring and autumn each year...they come in their thousands and are very noisy and very messy. I saw them in all their Grackle glory a few nights ago while in town. They were settling in on the many power lines that run over a large junction. It was an amazing sight but nothing prepared me for the noise when I parked at the shopping center and got out of the car...it was SO loud! No wonder the folks who live in town complain so much about them :0)

We have a few roosting in the trees out here but nothing like the numbers that you see in town. I heard them roosting tonight so I snapped a few shots.
