Two years on
Yesterday, I noted the one year ago thumbnail, and out of curiosity looked back to today two years ago.
That was the start of the major works we have had done, now complete except for .... You know what its like. As you spend time in a place there are things that could make it better or more useful. That sort of thing. The Certificate of Code Compliance has been finalised (I believe), so all is done that has to be done.
Today's photo is taken with me standing in much the same place as I did two years ago. I used the same camera, and the same 18 mm lens setting. Different lighting made a little difference.
At the time of the photo two years ago, the deck had already been removed. It had been much less substantial than this one which creates such a sense of space. Although it is not apparent from today's picture, the openings which were unobstructed two years ago, as doors and windows had been removed, can still be unobstructed as the doors and the windows all fold completely out of the way. Great on a hot and windless day. The pergola on the left is a new version, as the old one was unsalvageable.
Such a change in two years. Note the lower deck as well. Better seen large
ADDITIONAL: I have been trying to get a photo of the sunrise every Saturday. This morning was cloudy, and anyway S (especially) and I wanted to do the house a-la-2011 shot. However, I took this which can be seen in my blipfolio. (problems with the link; it is the last in the Nearly category)
