I love doctors x

Bit of hectic one today! Drove into Calgary again and after much detouring made it to the new South Health Campus which is the most futuristic, comfortable hospital ive ever been in. For starts it had a GIANT indoor rock climbing wall which was built to look like real rock. Within being in there no more than a few seconds we had someone helping us find the right sector.

Dr Beth Lang came into the room I was waiting in (silent rooms, yuk) and she entered with these glasses on her head that had torches attached to them and I was amazed as she sat down and knew everything that was happening. Normally you have to explain over and over at home, but here they appear to have been studying my results and paperwork before I arrived.

After taking this with the phone, because I was stoked on it being made by Leica, she proceeded to look in my ear. So it appears my eardrum in 'vacuumed' sucked back? retracted? which would explained some of the sounds, discomfort and constant pressure ive been experiencing almost my whole life. It turns out that when I had a tube removed when I was younger that it shouldnt have been and that my defective eardrum had unfortunately gone unnoticed my whole life.

She also mentioned the fluid behind my ear from CT scan and Eustachian tube being buggered because of it all. Rather than coming back in two weeks 'if your friend can drive you home' she said, 'I can perform an incision on your eardrum'. Got the go ahead from a hung over Adam to drive back and went ahead with the incision there and then. Despite anesthetic this was insanely painful, probably worse than the head injections.

So she wanted to do this first to see how I go and go back in two weeks and possibly have tube put back in for 12 months. They know what they are doing here, I like that. At some point in the next 2 days she said I have to clear my ear, which is apparently going to hurt. alot. and bleed. WEIRD!!!!!!!

Im so glad in a way that there is' and 'has been' something seriously wrong my whole life and that I haven't been moaning for no reason.
