The High Jump

No matter how grim things feel at the moment, be grateful you're not a salmon. This poor thing was trying so hard to get up the waterfall but hadn't succeeded by the time I left. Took this at Buchanty spout, which is probably the best place in the area to see them jump but always fills me with horror as the rocks are so slippery at the edge of the falls and people get so close - including little children. One photographer had his tripod precariously balanced at the edge.
