Trail of scarecrows
Tuesday October 6
With the promise of a couple of beautiful days, we took off for an overnight stay at the Inn at Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills, near Logan Ohio. This morning we headed for Lancaster, a little further north than Logan, and the county seat of Fairfield County, which I had read has a trail of scarecrows. When we got there it was coffee time, so we found a coffee shop/deli and enjoyed a coffee with a pecan roll, before exploring some of the scarecrows in the downtown area. It was quite a pleasant town and was looking its best in its autumn glory - I’ve put a couple of shots in extras. From there we drove towards Hocking Hills, stopping for a hike at Cantwell cliffs on the way, then checking in at the Inn. We have stayed at the Inn a couple of times before, but previously in one of their cottages, this time since we were there just for one night, we had a room in the Inn - still very nice. We made ourselves a cup of tea, then went for a wander around the grounds before going to dinner.
