Not Quite Perfect
I don't believe I neglected my Blip for 3-years. But events are often catalysts for change. Rosemary headed off to see her parents for 3-weeks. I didn't fancy the journey (10-mins is stretching it for me with a mask on) & it was nearing the start of term-time. I really do need my double-screens and office comforts to work effectively.
But that meant I was alone in the house for the 1st time in 6-months. No friendly chat at lunchtime and there are only so many pizza dinners one can have. My camera came out again, I accidently bought an 80-400mm lens and my old passion began again.
The last 6-months have been kinder to me than most and I'm grateful. But my life has involved helping lots of other people deal with their stuff. But as soon as the camera in in hand, I live in the moment, hyper aware of my surroundings and looking for a good shot. It's not necessarily the end result that counts but almost the meditative process leading up to the shutter release.
It was a busy day, lots of student tutorials and other bits n bobs. It passed in a flash. I had a nice run with Rosemary at lunchtime and then did a Zwift race tonight. Gahhh....I was strong but sat on the wrong wheel and lost the lead group. Beforehand, I looked out the window and throught "I must photograph the tree in the garden". The space is tight and the light was failing so I thought about framing, depth of field and 'washing out' the background with flash. It nearly worked but not all the leaves are as sharp as I wanted.
