Parasol

It's not hard to see where this mushroom gets its common name from! We visited a lovely nature reserve today, a couple of miles inland from where we are staying. I'd hoped there might be plenty of fungi in the mixture of heathland and woodland but was disappointed There was a small damp area where there where a few, but this one perfect specimen almost made up for the dearth. The other highlights were literally thousands of Pink-footed Geese in the stubble field (extras), and frequent sights of a Red Kite.
