Covid Test

It's treat yourself day and the DiY ice cream was far more of a treat than going for the covid test. I'd lost all sense of taste in food - i lost all sense of taste in clothes and hairstyles years ago - and was swithering about whether i needed to go. Sam went into intense nag/obsessive mode demanding i should get it done. He was right, better safe than sorry.

Same day booking at dyce airport test centre. 6pm slot. Felt like a slow motion drive through of a mash up between a top gear racetrack setpiece and a zombie apocalypse channel 4 late night special. Kind-hearted PPE'd up staff guided me through like i was on a Kill Jester video game quest.

The nasal bit was easier than the throat swab, which gave me the gag reflex a gogo. But all in all it was fine and it was good to demystify the whole process. A long 24 hours wait for results.

They came back negative. A relief. Much thanks and respect to all the staff working in all weathers at the testing centres, from those directing traffic, to issuing kits, giving guidance on application through closed car windows and collecting them back in.
