Photographing London
I've seen photos of it before but nothing compared to viewing the vaulted roof of King's Cross as I traveled up the escalator.
This was my long looked for day in London being exclusively ferried around in a black taxi cab. London cab drivers have to prove they can take passengers anywhere in the metropolis. To do this, they have to acquire 'The Knowledge.'
Not only does Terry Gibbins have 'The Knowledge,' he's also a more than competent photographer. We went out to the Thames Barrier, the Intercon Hotel at O2, where tea is served at the speed of a sloth but has some excellent reflections of Canary Wharf, St Dunstan's church in the City, views of the river, Tower Bridge and the Shard at sunset, Memorial Park finishing up at Waterloo Bridge.
I ended the day dining on a tasteless Tuna Niçoise salad at St Pancras but at least it was handy for the train home.
For me, especially with my lack of mobility, this was an extremely cost effective way of getting round London in a secure and Covid safe environment. Thoroughly recommended. See @londontaxiphoto on Twitter.
