How many lakes are there in the Lake District?

Sorry to return to this stupid joke (answer: One - Bassenthwaite, also known as Bass Lake. All the others have mere or water in their name; so then you get the answer fifteen. Smaller pieces of water are called tarns.) But is this a lake Chloe is sitting in front of? It certainly doesn't call itself a tarn. Let me present Devoke Water. Like Overwater it has 'water' in its name and it's quite big...so maybe there are seventeen lakes....maybe it's safer to stick with 'One!' after all.
