Exhibition

To the V&A Dundee, a fascinating new building on the riverside.  It has some dramatic, angular concrete exteriors, with a dark tunnel through its centre and attractive pools and planting around. The interior is very bright, furnished in wood, with some terrific spaces.

The main exhibition today was of fashion designed by Mary Quant, most notably in the 1960s and 70s. The exhibition had a large collection of colourful outfits, on stylish mannequins. My eye was drawn to the heads and some striking group poses.

Later, we explored the City Centre and were amused by the statues of Desperate Dan and OOR Wullie, cartoon character is comics published by DC Thomson, who are still based in the City.

Then to Broughty Ferry, where there were contrasting castles - Broughty Castle on the harbourside and the eccentric Claypotts Castle, tucked away in a small housing estate.
