A Windfall!

No, we haven't won the lottery ... but we have a great apple crop. I may have mentioned that before. Truth is, we have far more apples than we know what to do with. So has everyone around here. Every car park has a crate full, begging people to help themselves. We have dried, juiced, apple-sauced as many as we have room for, and still they keep coming ... You can have too much of a good thing!

Don't tell me to make cider, we tried that one year. The fermentation was ... over-enthusiastic ... I recall sitting up half a night, decanting the overflowing brew into jar after jar .... and the end result was vile. 

Maybe we should get a couple of piglets .... apparently someone did keep pigs here back in the day. That might account for the astonishing fertility of our soil.
