Fishing gone
Netpool. The part of the tidal estuary of the River Teifi below Cardigan where for centuries local people fished with nets across the river to catch herrings and sea trout. It was a way of life, sustenance and trade until the river silted up and more reliable sources of income beckoned. Lives once governed by the ebb and flow of the tides succumbed to the rigid timetable of the clock.
Whether fishing is your thing or not it's easy to get hooked on the British TV series Gone Fishing featuring two middle-aged men with dicky hearts who go fishing together as a sort of bonding exercise in the face of getting old and dealing with health concerns.. This might be less of an attraction maybe if the two were not Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer. brilliant comedians and old friends. It's touching, honest and funny. You also see some beautiful scenery and learn a lot about angling as they visit a different location with a different target each episode - and no fish are harmed (well maybe just one). Perfect lockdown viewing.
