Peak Colour

In order to show saturation, there should be contrasting subdued colours. On a mostly cloudy day some of the maple leaves were shaded which allowed those in the light to shine, giving me the contrast I was looking for. This maple is one of my favourites and I look forward to seeing it at peak colour each year.

I excluded the whitish sky as much as possible and toned down the remaining sky holes as best I could. I contemplated several crops to exclude the left hand trunk, but in the end left the image as I shot it.
