Bourtange
After a rather bad night sleep, the alarm clock rang at 6 am.
Within 30 minutes I picked up Peter and we were on our way to the village Bourtange, a 45 minutes ride.
We arrived around 7.30, parked the car and looked for a spot to build our airports. We soon sound a suitable place. We were stood on the lower left arrow point.
Bourtange is situated in the region Westerwolde in the east of the province of Groningen, close to the German border. The fortress was built in 1593 during the Dutch Revolt and was in use until 1851.
The star shaped fort was gradually restored to its mid-18th-century state between 1970 and 1990 and is currently an open-air museum.
Although the sun didn't play along the way we hoped, we still had a good time flying our drones. No wind, total calm conditions. Perfect. Only good light was missing.
After our flights here we went to a village nearby, Wedde. We captured the Borough of Wedde. But before we went there we drove via Stadskanaal to drop a special message.
Once our batteries were emptied we decided to go home instead of continuing our trip in the Westerwolde area with our regular cameras. All because of the lack of good light.
I guess we'll be returning here someday, to surpass today's photos.
