Pop

Our son switched on his overhead light in his bedroom. There was a loud pop and the glass part of the bulb fell onto his bed.

Not quite sure what caused this to happen. But a quick removal of the old bayonet bit and a restart of the fuse box - or “consumer unit” as it is now called - meant the replacement worked fine.
