Bird Excitement!

Ao we went hiking on the trails at Paul Smith College which were wonderful. They are supposed to be really good birding trails too though fall is probably not the best time. we were looking for boreal birds because I really wanted to see a boreal chickadee. Did hear one , but didn't see it . BUT... the excitement came on the marsh trail when we saw two! black backed woodpeckers! A new bird ! YAY! I want to come back here in spring!
