Old skills returning

Mum's warmer cardigans are worn out at the elbows, so she hopes to darn them as she's decided never to buy clothes again (being 92+).

So i dug out the accumulation of sewing baskets/boxes to find some wool and the right needles. Triumphant at discovering the old mushroom.

Now to find out if we can still darn. It's been a very long time since i had any success, but if the world is to return to wool for warmth, it might be worth relearning.
