Moving Along

The platoons of PG&E trucks has made its way down Los Alamos Road and has stopped opposite our bedroom porch. I took this picture from there. We rather like the open view over the fields afforded by the loss of the fence put up by the previous owners.

We will have to replace all the fencing around the property, which is either severely damaged or gone. We’ll probably replace the majority with deer fencing, but the segment outside our bedroom and the white painted one at the front of the house needs to provide privacy. We’re looking at possibilities now. The complete demolition of the fence by fire and the proximity to the house is causing us to think about the possibilities of corrugated metal. The hot tub melted on one side and we won’t be replacing it, but we’ll also have to figure out what to do with the hole it leaves in the decking around it.

But first we have to hear from the insurance company...easier said than done until the workers finish the pole erecting and wire stringing and restore our phone and internet service....
