Corn and soy bean country
Tuesday October 13
This morning, our knitting ministry was supposed to be meeting outside, but when I checked the temperature at 8.30 it was giving the temperature in the upper 40s F! However it was a beautiful sunny morning, so I dressed in layers and went, and by the time we finished at around 11 am, I had shed a layer and was still plenty warm enough! There were about six of us, masked and socially distanced, and plenty of scarves and prayer shawls to be blessed. We would normally pass them around the circle and say a silent individual prayer over each group of items, but we are not doing that during Covid times, but we gathered around them and said a group prayer over them. From there, I went to the library to take some books back and get some more out, including our next Book Club read - another “cheerful” subject! At least the book I’m reading at the moment is in a lighter vein! Then after a bit of lunch, we went out cycling, our favourite stretch, starting from Corwin. Although we saw various machines and harvesters in the fields, none of them seemed to be moving, but there were numerous lovely autumnal scenes
