Apple Crisp

When we were shopping in town on Friday, I picked up five pounds of apples for just under a dollar a pound, which is a good deal indeed. I also picked up a box of apple crisp mix.

I often make my own from scratch, but this was even easier: just mix in a few tablespoons of butter. I did add a few more oats and brown sugar, and of course, upped the cinnamon, as my husband is a cinnamon fiend.

My husband made a ham, and mashed potatoes and gravy and asparagus, and we had the apple crisp for dessert. And that was our very nice meal to celebrate our 12th wedding anniversary!

And a happy 90th birthday on this day to my sweet mama!!!
