Bit of a wasted day. We intended to walk to the goats, but it was grey and uninviting. Suggested we go immediately after lunch and first change the bulb in the hall light.
Mistake. Involved swapping bulbs from one ceiling light to another to see whether it was the starter or the bulb that was the problem. In the process my darling other half dropped the shade and it cracked.
No problem I thought, it was from B&Q. Went online couldn’t find it, called them, very helpful advisor (she slipped that in my phone number was one of the early ones), then advised the lamp has been discontinued.
Asked how she knew re phone number. She said she used to work for the telephone exchange. So have acquired more useless information! Now intrigued to know exactly how old our number is, another challenge to find out.
We have 3 identical ceiling lamps in the hall, only use 2, otherwise too bright. Have glued the shade together as maybe the crack won’t notice. And will leave it without a bulb. Will let it dry till tomorrow, and then hopefully get it back up intact. Found a similar one on-line, but by the time I buy the lamp (x2 cost of B&Q), pay the postage and get an electrician, becomes an expensive affair.
After all that we decided to stay home. Made Mary Berry’s pita bread (easy) to go with the beetroot hummus I made yesterday. Added a few slivers of gherkin. Delicious.
The sea and sunset were stunning, as blipped.
