Rebuilt

Today I finished rebuilding this battery pack. 

I had to prise it open, take out 6 old Nickel Metal Hydride cells which were 30 years old and badly degraded, and replace them with 6 new ones.  There was some fiddly soldering and assembly involved in getting everything to fit just right, then some fiddling to get the pack sealed up and the bits aligned so it would fit on the back of the radio.  It seems to be there now, I'll find out for sure after it's finished charging overnight.

The old pack had a capacity of 700mAh although I suspect that had degraded to what I think was less than 100mAh based on a quick calculation. It should now have a 1100mAh capacity - 57% more.than the old pack
