Wildhut
I was overwhelmed by everyone's kind comments on yesterday's blipping milestone, arbitrary as it was. I am always amazed at the global footprint of Blipfoto, and how you can peer into lives across the world. Thanks one and all.
Today we went hunting for Kevin Langan's wild hut in Dalmeny Estate. Kevin's project to build and sleep in survival shelters created from the local environment is an inspiration and I have followed his blog for a couple of months.
This structure was conveniently located next to some impressive pre-WWI gun batteries to add to the sense of adventure. The gun emplacements commanded a wide view over the Firth of Forth, the approaches to the rail bridge and Rosyth. Inside the hut, there are three sleeping platforms (I wouldn't call them beds), made from horizontal sticks. Actually if you're that interested, Kevin describes it better than I could on his blog.
