Day 210 Autumn Colour II
The hawthorn has now shed all its leaves and sport just bunches of very bright red berries. This rowan is finally taking on its autumn colours and in a week or so will look as though it's on fire. We have observed that autumn seems to be coming earlier than usual to our part of the UK. A quick scan through my blips of previous years shows that we don't really enjoy those fabulous colours in Epping Forest until the second half of November.
In other news: we were horrified to find that Peggy Sue had disgraced herself by weeing on the dining room carpet. We thought that we'd left all of that kind of behaviour behind us after poor Tinkerbell left us last year. We are trying to make excuses for her: she looks a though she may have had fight with a local cat (the intruder) and a large dog fox has appeared a few times rather too near to the house, but she is in disgrace at the moment and her Lockdown Privilege of being able to spend the night in the dining room has been withdrawn. It's strictly uncarpeted areas only from now on!
