"...then I'll begin." - the opening words of "Listen with Mother", a BBC Home Service (!) children's story time at 1:45pm each weekday afternoon in the '50s. Yes, I am that old, and have fond memories of joining Dad in the study, where the radio was, to get my daily story fix.

The two lads in this picture are our grandsons having their bedtime story read to them by Sue. (Actually, they're looking at an old photograph album.) We are doing our grandparently duty over half term, and happy as we were to collect them this afternoon, I'm sure we shall be equally happy to reunite them with Mum and Dad in a few days' time. Hey, that's the privilege of being Nana and Grumps.
