Watercolour wannabe

At this time of year I start to mess around with processing to create pictures which are better than the dull reality of many overcast days. Today, I tried to make this view of a worked-out quarry near the canal look a bit like a watercolour painting. The two extras have also been extensively fettled to try to get some contrast for the silver birch trees.
