Here's lookin' at you
As shot (ie uncropped)
This afternoon turned out better than this morning so I'll carefully forget the morning and put it behind me.
Tina (my main carer) and I were up in the office (a sort of mezzanine floor above the lounge/in the roof). Hearing a commotion outside, and forever trying to get a flight shot of supersonic the sparrowhawk, I stuck my head out of the window with my 100-400 zoom in my hand. Lo and behold my very inquisitive and equally photogenic kestrel had popped off her perch (so to speak) and was fast approaching. Just had time to raise the camera and snap a few as she went by at eye height - I do love her! Exposure not brill but you get the idea?
Ten minutes later we were in the kitchen when I spotted this fella crossing the field on the way home (out all night methinks). Camera still at my side, this was taken outside the front door (this one is cropped don't worry!)
Final image of the day makes up for none yesterday. My wonderful friend Ali had come over to cut my hair (this in spite of the fact that Ali is practically living in Manchester where her mum is in hospital after heart operation + stroke). We were sitting in the garden when the pair of buzzards came over to inspect us - oh and also the large beef bone that I had put out to tempt them down after one was spotted in my compost heap during Big Garden Birdwatch!! I am sure had we not been there (excuse me - Pixel s sitttin ggon my keyboarddddddddddddd) they would have come down. But hey ho I'd rather have Ali there.
