Horse box

In the novel I am reading, at present, there is a robot servitor caller "Lurcher" who's vision is described as "cyclopean". My friends horse box is, similarly, one-eyed. 

I've had a terrible time of late, with cameras. My trust Pentax K3 died last month, motherboard gave up. It can be mended but at a cost I am unwilling to pay for a device I have, quite frankly, worn out. It's been my constant companion for 7 years, up hill and down dale, in all weathers, taking over a hundred thousand photos, some of which were ok. Now it's a paperweight. My second camera, a Pentax K7, fell on the kitchen floor the other day. Quarry tiles and sensitive photographic equipment aren't good friends. So now I am bereft.
