It's been quite mild today and it was good to see the wasps and flies on the ivy flowers.    There were several ladybirds on the garage wall and as I watched them they seemed to be making their way to the security light, I would imagine they will overwinter behind the casing.    Several came indoors too on the washing that had line dried.
Also this afternoon I saw a brimstone butterfly skimming over the conifer hedge, it's quite late in the season but was a welcome splash of colour .
If there are extra characters in my script blame Luna who is resting her head on the keyboard as I type this.
