Tiny Harvest
In previous years, eating figs in the Languedoc region has been a summer treat. Earlier this year I found one ripe fig that had stayed on the tree since the previous year slowly ripening. The scent from the fig was divine especially to the slug devouring the other side! I left it in the garden where the remains were finished by wasps rather disappointed.
Today however, the figs which had been green were indeed soft and ripe. Naturally they needed plucking before the local wildlife discovered them. So here they are displayed with a few other things from the garden to make up a tiny harvest before I add them to ice cream.
