Lifesaver
Today had all the signs of going rapidly downhill.
The beautiful morning turned rainy and cold.
The carpark was full.
Staff were on a go slow.
Mr Horrible Neighbour was on a mission to cause as much inconvenience as possible.
Cases were not as straightforward as the computer was suggesting.
Phones were ringing incessantly.
I had a very difficult phone call to squeeze in between a very full day of appointments...
And then, one of our lovely regular clients brought her gorgeous Border Terrier in for an appointment, accompanied by her famous huge tub of shortbread.
And, for a wee while, things seemed OK.
It's the wee gestures that can make huge changes.
Veterinary practice has changed massively during Covid-19.
Some days, the stress gets to us all.
In the absence of being able to hug your vet, maybe thank them?
It really does make a difference.
Grace's shortbread and a mug of tea - in the mug our staff gave me for Christmas - changed the direction of my day a little.
It's only calories!
