... the world's smallest rug, or the world's largest placemat*.
I had 1m of a 150cm wide bit of ugly fabric I bought from IKEA about 17 years ago - lots of green & black photos of people (it is so ugly that the internet seems to have wiped all knowledge of it). I have no idea what led me to buy it.
Anyway, I had the bright idea that I'd try and make a rag rug. So I sewed the piece into a tube and and cut a continuous strip that ended up being 55m long, divided that into 3, and then took aaaages to plait the thing, ending up with about 15m which I then zigzag sewed together.
Well, it passed the time ...
*At 50cm diameter, your guess is as good as mine.
