England Expects .....

On this day in history in 1805, Admiral Lord Nelson's fleet defeated a Franco-Spanish invasion force off the coast of Spain at the Battle of Trafalgar, one of the most decisive maritime battles in history. Napoleon's fleet of 33 ships was devastated in the five hour battle, with 19 enemy ships lost and not a single British ship sunk. The British sailors clearly heeded Nelson's famous flag hoist message from the H.M.S. Victory, "England expects every man to do his duty."

Who knew Nelson could sing soprano?
