He was calling very loudly...

... but not getting much response from the rest of the deer herd, at Studley Royal this morning.

It was a dull misty morning but the camera coped well at the rather high ISO levels necessary.

A little while later, I found myself very close to this young sleeping deer, as I walked out of some trees. The response was to look at me warily and toddle along in the same direction as I did, stopping occasionally to watch what I was doing (see the extras).
