If you can't beat them...

Autumn Colour.

Following our wander round Wetheriggs Country Park looking for autumn colour it occurred to us that Castle Park in Penrith may have autumn colour.  We were right.

When you think about it it's logical that a park will be planted for colour and interest in all seasons.  Almost everywhere we looked there was a blaze of colour.  The avenue of beeches running up from the main entrance provided the largest display.  In summer they are copper colour, whether that influences the autumn colour or noti don't know.

The avenue runs uphill to the Boer War memorial known locally as "The Black Angel".   This shot was taken from just in front of the Angel looking down to the main  gates.
