Same hole-digging contractor, another hole, another question. 

However, this hopefully has solved the slow, occasionally-not, draining of the downstairs loo as a mesh of fine roots had got in through a crack in the clay pipes, now replaced with a single plastic length.

We think we know what the adjacent thinner pipe is.
