C&O Canal

We did a nice 8-mi walkabout along the C&O canal, which started out (this was my first shot) in the fog and ended up with a sunny, colorful, summer like day :)

The C&O canal used to be the mode of transportation for goods to and from Ohio to the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic beyond. The canal itself has mostly fallen into disrepair but the towpath (on which the mules pulled the boats) remains and you can walk the entire distance -- if you so chose :)
