Crystal Bridges Museum
Today was spent in Walmart Corporate Office territory... Bentonville, Arkansas. A friend of mine was having his wedding reception in that area so The Kid and I made a day of it.
We spent some of our time at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. There is no admission to this museum. Walmart is the major sponsor and only requires you to check in with your zip code for demographic purposes.
I was very impressed with the museum itself and the art there. I was sad to find out I was a couple of weeks too early for the Norman Rockwell exhibit. That starts the first part of march.
The museum building is art in itself. Lots of wood and glass make for very interesting shapes.
We also visited the Walmart Visitors Center that has a chronological history of how Sam Walton began the Walmart empire. Lunch was at a local place called the Flying Fish. Really good catfish!
Back home 14 hours after we left. I love day trips but it sure does make a person tired.
