Our Understanding Of Animals Has Changed.

So...today’s Vet’s visit to China was pretty positive. She is more than happy with the way his stifles have reacted to the treatment and she says that the recent lameness was definitely related to an injury in the field, she thinks that he probably got kicked or kicked him self on the inside of his leg and it bruised the bone and became infected causing the cellulitis. After his week of antibiotics and rest, she is happy for me to carry on working him the way I was...I was so relieved as I was really worried that the stifle treatment hadn’t worked and we would have to repeat the injections.

I didn’t have much time for a blip today but I actually took this photograph to send to Sushi who was at school and wanted the name of his favourite vintage Zoology book.
The book was written in 1904 and we found it in a second hand shop a few years back. Sushi loves it as it illustrates perfectly how our understanding of animals and their welfare has changed in the last 100 years.
