Salix (Willow)........
............Out and about fairly early this morning as I have so much catching up to do and the sun was very tempting! I didn't have to look too far before I saw my first Pussy Willows.
They really shone in the sunshine and, I think, make quite a nice picture. I am a lot happier with this than I was with yesterday's blip - I wonder if you agree!
The plant originated in North America and they are favourite decorations for the Chinese New Year, the stems being decorated in gold and red , representing signs of weath. I should have picked some to see if that was true! I always used to incorporate them in a vase of daffodils - made the daffs easier to arrange too!
The weather is bright and sunny and really like a proper early Spring day - quite chilly at the moment - 3 deg C - pleasantly fresh!
Just a reminder that clicking on lower case "L" enlarges the image - shows much more detail.
