Kopu Bridge

Built in 1928. It is a one lane bridge with passing bays. It used to be controlled by lights which caused massive queues on the long weekends. It has a mid section which swings up to allow tall boats to go up the river. A few years ago a new 2 lane bridge was built much to the dismay of locals but the Aucklanders that come down to our pretty part of the island were ecstatic.

This weekend the bridge is open for people to walk across.
