Meet Spike
Bored today - so I dug out a sweet chestnut and had a play with focus stacking.
I used the 6D, on a tripod with 100mm macro lens. Lit from the left with natural light and my LED panel on the right.
Focus was remote controlled from my iPad (Canon Camera Connect) using the ‘medium step’ focus shift button. I took 53 shots in total.
I processed in Photoshop first but it didn’t produce great results, so then I processed in Affinity Photo which gave much better results. I has still struggled to create sharp spikes at the top of the image - where it has no ‘in focus’ background to work with. Overall very pleased with this result
Looks fab in LARGE!
