Another training outing

This time we went to the Forest Church and then Les Caches Farm, owned by and recently resorted by the National Trust of Guernsey.
John who led the tour is incredibly knowledgeable and can read a church or an old Guernsey farmhouse like a book.
I was amazed at all the changes that had been made to the church over the years. It won’t make me an expert but I have an idea what to look out for in other island churches.
He explained the differences between Guernsey houses and Jersey houses and strangely Les Caches is actually a Jersey (style) house with no back door and a tourelle directly opposite the front door.
The rain held off for us but there was a biting wind so even I found it a bit cold. But a good morning out.
