Fireworks

On the first day of work after Chinese New Year's day, most businesses let off fireworks to ensure the new year will be a prosperous one. I caught such a display as I was heading to the train station.

For this particular shot, fireworks are bought in a big roll and then stretched out across the sidewalk or just on the street. A smallish roll is left at the end so that the finale is a giant loud boom.
