The Lauriston
“He who would travel happily must travel light.”
Antoine de St. Exupery
A reasonably early start for London to transfer K2 to her new home for the next few days, and packing for her move to a new adventure - life in Berne, Switzerland. Our second visit to London this week and one of mixed emotions as we don't know when we'll be able to meet up again in person. When K2 moved to London I said I wouldn't consider driving there, how priorities have changed - it's about 20 years since I've driven through London, and then without SatNav. This time K2 navigated us through, I still don't trust the SatNav entirely.
We made the most of a stop at Victoria Park to collect some things and take a breather on the journey, then on to Winchmore Hill before quickly resuming our return journey, minus K2. Nature summed it up with rain gushing like tears over our parting, but life goes on. The Lauriston was her local for a couple of years and we had pizza's from there; today the weather couldn't dampen spirits and there was plenty of life on the streets, with umbrellas at the ready in case. It was a long day, we began our journey about 09.30am, returning home about 9.00pm. I won't be doing much tomorrow!
